Needing a way to fly easier

When I got promoted at work I was extremely nervous. The new position required me to travel to different potential customers and give sales pitches. I am a very nervous flyer. I get where I can hardly sit still in the plane. I get sweaty, jumpy and taking pills only does so much. I thought I wouldn’t be able to handle all the traveling and not every location is driving accesibles. Before I told my boss no, I thankfully went to the marijuana dispensary near me for some help. I asked for a product that would mellow me out and allow me to fly easily. I didn’t want to be blazed out of my mind, smell like weed and not be able to give a presentation hours later. The budtender recommended to me to vape a cannabis oil. I have a legal medical marijuana prescription so I now can carry my vape state to sate without any hassle. The vape is very discrete though. It can be hidden under my shirt and be ready for me to puff whenever I want. While waiting for the airport transport I typically puff really hard trying to get as mellow as possible. If I don’t get the effects good enough, I find a smoking lounge to take a few more hits. By the time I am on the plane I am feeling really loose and good. My particular strain is heavy in CBD and low in THC. I don’t feel totally crazy and the high only lasts my plane ride. By the time I am on land again I feel quite normal. Vaping the marijuana also means the smell doesn’t linger on my clothing.

Using topicals for daily aches and pains

For daily aches and pains there are a lot of things you can do.

Some people advocate stretching or going to a massage therapist to loosen those muscles.

You can also use heating pads, icy hot and take anti-inflammatory pills. A lot of people now are turning to cannabis to treat chronic pain. You can smoke to get the cannabinoids into your system to reduce inflammation and pain. Most people with injuries tend to turn to topicals though. Not everyone wants to get high, especially those with injuries. A topical is any lotion, cream of salve with CBD infused in it. There are even patches that a person can put on their skin that also has THC in it. The THC then gets into the blood through the patch and can make a person high. Typically when a customer turns to a topical, they just want the relief. The topical usually has peppermint or some other cooling formula to soothe the muscles as well. This means that most topicals smell quite pleasant. It is a better, more intense form of icy hot in my opinion. I love using topicals since I am an athlete that deals with daily pain. I stock up on different creams that I use daily. I have one for at night and one in the morning. I like changing up what smells I get and how strong of a topical I use. I don’t feel like I am using a cannabis product either. I don’t get high, mellow or have the muchines. It simply is meant to soothe the aches and help me throughout the day.

What is a dab bar

Do you want to get as high as possible? I highly recommend trying cannabis concentrates over oil or flower.

You get the marijuana plant down to its chemical essence to get as much of the THC content as possible.

You then vaporize it by dabbing. How do you vape concentrate? It is similar to a bong but you are actually using a titanium nail called a rig. The dabber uses a blowtorch to heat the nail in order to vaporize the concentrate on the nail. Dabbing used to be looked at as potentially being dangerous. Research is still being done but it doesn’t look like taking in harder amounts of THC is bad. There are even portable rigs for sale at legal weed shops. At high end cannabis dispensaries there are places called dab bars where multiple rigs are set up for customers. They simply wipe off the mouthpiece after each use. The dab bar is a good way to get high and really be in the marijuana atmosphere. There are machines called e-rigs that the user can set their own heat, flavor and potency too. With most weed you are getting around 30% THC but with dabbing you can get around the 60-80% range. There is a form called crystalline that can get up to 99% THC. So if you want to get really high quickly, look at dabbing. The dab bars are growing in popularity and more dispensaries are adding them to the layout. For smokers of oil and flowers, you still need to stick to the standard vape lounge.

Now it is all delivery

A lot of things have really stunk since COVID has been around.

You can’t go to the movies anymore, you have to stream at home. There is no more bar hopping, restaurants, hikes or nights on the town. Everything is way lamer and most people are stuck at home. I now am at the stage where everything I do is online based. I also have to work from my computer at my house. As a very social person, this feels like torture. The last thing that I had going for me was heading to the cannabis dispensary near me. I used to do once a month trips and when COVID started showing up, I upped it to once a week. I needed some reason to get out of the house and talk to people. I would spend over an hour talking to the budtender about sativa vs indica. I would look at the different ways to smoke, different edibles and even try concentrates at the dab bar. It was the only cool thing left that the virus had not touched. Now my cannabis dispensary has closed its doors and is all virtual based. You can look up the cannabis menu online, place an order and either get it delivered or do curbside pickup. There is no reason to go out to the dispensary anymore, so I get cannabis delivery. I can’t look at all the different products or talk to the budtender either. It really stinks that this weed shop has now become just like every other business. I keep thinking the times are going to change and things will be back to normal.

Cannabis flower products are my favorite way to consume marijuana in any form

I feel like a bit of a naturalist when it comes to food and medications.

  • I don’t have an inherent hate of pharmaceutical medications, but I’d rather use natural remedies in situations where it’s possible.

Case and point—I grew up using diphenhydramine, the medicine in benadryl, for both allergies and sleeping issues. Since it ticked both boxes, I never questioned using it. But my allergies improved as I got older, and after trying melatonin for insomnia, I have all but quit using diphenhydramine. I still have a bottle in my medicine cabinet, but it rarely gets used. For anxiety, I use this compound l-theanine that comes from green tea. It’s a surprisingly powerful anti-anxiety medication for being completely legal, but it isn’t cheap because of the extraction process. The price alone probably dissuades most people from trying it. If I need something stronger, or something to help with depression as well—that’s when I turn to cannabis. I have a medical marijuana card in my home state, and I usually visit a medical cannabis once a month or more to restock. I have tried everything from cannabis topicals to cannabis soda, but my favorite cannabis products to this day are cannabis flower products. It’s getting the most natural form of cannabis—its harvested flower buds—and using it the way nature intended without sending it through an extraction process. By and large, I also prefer sativa strains over indica strains because the former helps keep my mind stimulated through long workdays at home. Sometimes I use indica strains at night, but I don’t always have them on hand at home to use whenever the thought crosses my mind.

I called the Department of Health hotline to learn how to get a medical marijuana card

Our state’s Department of Health has slowly improved since the last governor left office.

It still has a long way to come, but at least they’re staffing enough people to answer the phones when citizens call in desperate need of help.

The last governor was cutting costs wherever humanly possibly, leaving some agencies woefully understaffed during critical crises. Even though the newer governor is from the same party, he’s more competent at the job at the bare minimum. I won’t defend him on much, but it’s a fact that he stopped the governor’s office from unconstitutionally restricting access to medical marijuana. Before he assumed office, our former governor was in a battle with the courts to stop a constitutional amendment that legalized marijuana for medical use. Despite getting over 70% of the vote, the former governor blocked portions of the law. It took two years and a new governor before we could buy cannabis flower products at cannabis dispensaries. Now I can actually speak to a human being if I call the state’s Department of Health, which is the office that handles the medical marijuana program. Since I’m just now getting the money together to get a medical marijuana card, I took advantage of the cannabis hotline from the Department of Health to learn how to get a medical marijuana card and the entire process. They gave me a link where I could look through a database of physicians across the state that are all certified to prescribe medical marijuana to state approved patients. With the database, I found a great doctor whose office is just a 10 minute drive from my apartment.

Yesterday I tried the cannabis delivery service for the first time ever

The last time I visited the grocery store, I came into contact with several people without masks on.

Even though I wear KN-95 masks, they’re not flawless.

Sometimes they leak a little bit despite my best efforts. And few of them are FDA approved, lending to the worry that some aren’t as effective as others at filtering the respiratory particles from infected people. I lost several family members already from COVID, so I know from personal experience that this disease is a serious threat to anyone. But if you have breathing problems or long term lung issues, you are even more vulnerable to the effects from the virus. My dad has had pneumonia twice now, so I’m especially afraid that I won’t get to see him again if something bad happens. He lives 1,200 miles away and I can’t travel to see him at the risk of contracting the virus and passing it on to him on accident. I live with my mom and take care of her full time, so I have to be extra diligent to not catch COVID at the risk of my mother’s potential death from contracting the virus from me. My sister happily lives alone and can do whatever she pleases without the fear of making another person sick. Regardless, I have to focus on myself and my own efforts. That’s why I tried the cannabis delivery service with the cannabis dispensary for the first time yesterday. With no extra charges, they bring your order of cannabis products directly to your front door. Although you have to wait for next day delivery, it’s an amazing service for those like me who try to stay indoors if at all possible.

I am trying to rate pot brownies from homemade to dispensary purchased

I’m happy that my homemade pot brownies were both strong and delicious

Ever since I was little, I have loved to cook. Whether it’s homemade pizza, chili, or baked goods like pies, cakes, and brownies, I can lose myself for hours in the kitchen coming up with delicious dishes to prepare. With additional time during the pandemic, I haven’t eaten any fast food or takeout food in months. Everything I could possibly want comes directly from my kitchen. Even if I want something like tender baby back ribs, I make it all with my bare hands. The only hangup I have is going to the grocery store more than onces or twice a week at maximum to minimize my exposure to potentially infected people. That’s why my freezer is full of frozen raw meat. All I have to do is pull something out of the freezer and put it in my fridge to thaw before I chuck it in my slow cookers with a layer of spices on the outside surfaces. Before long, I have a delicious meal waiting to be eaten. Last week I decided to make pot brownies for the first time ever. If I want marijuana edibles, I have always bought them at the cannabis dispensary. I haven’t made marijuana edibles before. Regardless of how much I love the professional pot brownies, I can’t afford the prices at the cannabis dispensaries. That’s why I decided to make my own batch the other day. I’m happy that my homemade pot brownies were both strong and delicious. It can be tough getting the right amount of cannabis oil in the brownies where they’re strong but not insanely overpowering either. I think I managed to strike a good balance on my first attempt.

Most cannabis dispensaries carry a wide variety of marijuana products

Some online marketplaces aren’t carrying as many products as they used to.

Some have raised all of their prices as well.

Amazon is a perfect example of this phenomenon, because they used to be the go-to location for cheap prices and fast shipping. Now their prices are high and their shipping dates are often falsified as they change the projected date after you complete your order. They’ll offer two day Prime shipping if you have a subscription, but often the delivery takes longer than two days. It’s frustrating when you order something you would otherwise buy at the grocery store the same day, so you’re stuck waiting days for something you need immediately. Other online stores that I used to frequent have simply increased their shipping rates amid the enormous increase in load on shipping carriers since the onset of 2020. Thankfully the cannabis dispensaries in my area have improved in the last year by contrast. They have all implemented online marketplaces where you can browse the stock in the store and make an order for curbside pickup or home delivery. Unlike Amazon, the delivery date that the cannabis dispensaries give you is set in stone. It’s guaranteed unless there’s a huge natural disaster like a tornado or a hurricane. I love browsing the stock with their online cannabis product menu. They are never short of amazing products, and the prices are going down instead of increasing. At least I can rely on the cannabis dispensaries whenever I need marijuana in a quick time span. Either they deliver it to my house or I drive to the store for immediate curbside pickup. Buying marijuana has never been easier.

Sativa strains tend to help me through my workdays

Regardless of what kind of products I get, I almost always get sativa strains.

I probably like coffee too much for my own good. I go through at least a pot and a half of coffee from morning until early evening every single day. Working from home exclusively is a dangerous gambit with my coffee consumption, because there is no one around to tell me to take it easy. My dog surely doesn’t care, nor could he even voice his concerns if he did. Even though I get jittery and impatient under the effects of caffeine, I don’t have a person in the house to notice my behavior either. Therefore, I tend to drink coffee to my heart’s content, although ironically it is probably not so good for my literal heart and the rest of my circulatory system. The other substance that I use as much as coffee is cannabis. Every week I stop by the cannabis dispensary while I’m out getting groceries and other essentials. I get a vaporizer cartridge filled with marijuana distillate oil, as well as a jar or two of cannabis flower products. Regardless of what kind of products I get, I almost always get sativa strains. Most of my cannabis consumption happens during daylight hours while I’m working, so I need stimulating batches of marijuana that keep me alert and focused. That’s why I like sativa strains of cannabis so much more than indica strains, as the former are more like stimulants while the latter are often sedatives. This isn’t a perfect distinction by any means as some strains of each category problematize the categorization effort entirely, but it’s a broad and generalized distinction for purely practical reasons.
