Would she like a CBD hair set?

I always struggle to know what to get my wife for Christmas. She buys all the clothing she could possibly need. I am not qualified to purchase books, make up or cookware either. As far as I know, she has no hobbies that require anything either. So each year I go to the mall and just walk around aimless and buy things she probably doesn’t want. This year my local cannabis dispensary emailed me an ad for new cannabis products coming. One of the products was a haircare set for women. You get shampoo, conditioner and hair serum all with CBD in it. The products are said to be good for your hair, smell fresh and mellow you out due to the CBD oil added to it. I have read all sorts of reviews online and they are all very positive. I have really considered buying the marijuana hair care set for her. Everything is all packaged together nice so I would just need to put it in a box and wrap it. The set costs enough that it would be my main gift. I could pick out a few little things and then call it a day. However, I don’t really know my wife’s stance on marijuana. I know she doesn’t care if people smoke but she certainly doesn’t. Would she find a CBD product to be cool or be totally uninterested? I feel like the gift could be an amazing hit that she is wowed by amazing deduction to know that she needed it. Or she would wonder why on Earth I thought she would want it.

Getting the education to become a budtender

Ever since marijuana became legalized I wanted to work in a cannabis dispensary.

I looked into how to become a budtender and realized there are different levels to it.

In states where recreational and medical marijuana are legal it is easy to work in a weed shop. However, you are nothing more than a cashier in those places. You make minimum wage and aren’t really qualified to answer any questions. It is like a person going to the gas station picking out cigarettes. Some high end recreational marijuana dispensaries have cool things like vape lounges, dab bars and tons of new cannabis products. Those budtenders are typically required to take courses offered by cannabis education companies. You need to learn about the different products, how to sell them and how to run a dispensary. In states where only medical marijuana is legal, there are courses the budtenders take to understand why medically each patient uses cannabis. You need more than just cannabis 101. My dream was to work with medical marijuana patients. I wanted to help reduce nausea from chemotherapy. I wanted to learn what strain helps with seizures. I wanted to understand the science on why cannabis can treat PTSD. It was a lot of work, education and moving my way up the ladder. However, I now love what I do and every step to get to my position in life was totally worth it. I feel good that I am essentially providing a miracle drug for people who are struggling. I can help those with depression, anxiety and chronic pain by recommending the right product.

He is a marijuana grower

So I need to buy my cannabis products just like any normal person

My husband and three of his friends pooled their money together to start a marijuana growing business. Growing marijuana and selling to dispensaries used to be an easy thing. You could be a small time grower without a hitch. Then it became required that the cannabis products needed to be from seed to sale. Every step of production needed to be handled by the same person. My husband and his friends needed to pool their resources together to become a high end growing operation rather than a few guys in their basement. The growing op has special lighting, nutrient and watering systems. Each guy handles a different stage of the growing process and gets the cannabis ready for sale. All the dispensaries in town need to do is place an order with them. All the cannabis products are bagged, labeled and legally allowed to be sold. It was a bunch of hoops they needed to jump through though. You would think that would mean I could get weed whenever I want. I should have free marijuana of any strain. The issue is that the marijuana business is booming. My husband’s stock frequently gets bought out. He can’t grow enough to have any leftovers. So I need to buy my cannabis products just like any normal person. I bought my husband’s weed at a dispensary when at one point it was right next door to me. Thankfully a few of the weed shops have given me a discount on the stock. It is still odd smoking my husband’s weed and being a customer of his.

I knew a lot but never tried it

I know a lot about marijuana and had never experienced it until I was 25 years old.

I work for an SEO business that makes websites for HVAC dealers and cannabis dispensaries.

I have made tons of websites for different legal weed shops. I have written content on the website about different cannabis products like topicals, flower, oil, concentrates and edibles. I talked about THC and CBD. I explained the difference between sativa vs indica. I also on the website laid out how a person visiting the cannabis dispensary might go or how they could place an order for cannabis delivery. I even did social media posting for a few marijuana dealers. I had never smoked or taken an edible before. I had never been high, only smelled weed at a few concerts. When my boyfriend and I went on vacation, one of my clients had a dispensary right near our hotel. It seemed weird that I wouldn’t visit the guy when I had worked for him for years. I then realized after introducing myself and talking to the dispensary owner, it would be weird not to try out any of his products. I ended up trying different cannabis flower and oil in the dispensary vape lounge. I got to be high for the first time when I was way older than most people. My boyfriend also joined us and loved smoking. The two of us had a great trip and even stopped at the dispensary again to try edibles. We wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

Smoking cannabis to help with menopause

I am one of the last people you would think has a legal medical marijuana prescription.

I have always had trouble sleeping but when menopause started showing up, I couldn’t even get a few hours of rest.

My hot flashes were so bad that they were happening every hour. I then couldn’t fall back asleep and would be a zombie all day. I started looking online on what I can do to help my sleeping and menopause issues. A lot of women my age oddly enough recommended trying cannabis. They said to find a cannabis dispensary and talk to the budtender about a strain for my issues. Since my state is only medical marijuana legal I had to fill out some paperwork. I needed to see a doctor about my issues and pay a small fee for my medical marijuana card. Now I have a prescription for cannabis flower and oil. The budtender I talked to thankfully had helped multiple women like me. He got me the exact strain I needed and told me to take a few hits before bed. Honestly I would have smoked an entire joint, bowl or even eating a whole bag of weed in order to sleep. I am not afraid of being totally high. I am that desperate to not wake up sweaty and tired. Smoking marijuana has really helped me out. I am much calmer going to bed and my hot flashes are very rare late at night. I have thought about smoking during the day to reduce them as well.

Needing a way to fly easier

When I got promoted at work I was extremely nervous. The new position required me to travel to different potential customers and give sales pitches. I am a very nervous flyer. I get where I can hardly sit still in the plane. I get sweaty, jumpy and taking pills only does so much. I thought I wouldn’t be able to handle all the traveling and not every location is driving accesibles. Before I told my boss no, I thankfully went to the marijuana dispensary near me for some help. I asked for a product that would mellow me out and allow me to fly easily. I didn’t want to be blazed out of my mind, smell like weed and not be able to give a presentation hours later. The budtender recommended to me to vape a cannabis oil. I have a legal medical marijuana prescription so I now can carry my vape state to sate without any hassle. The vape is very discrete though. It can be hidden under my shirt and be ready for me to puff whenever I want. While waiting for the airport transport I typically puff really hard trying to get as mellow as possible. If I don’t get the effects good enough, I find a smoking lounge to take a few more hits. By the time I am on the plane I am feeling really loose and good. My particular strain is heavy in CBD and low in THC. I don’t feel totally crazy and the high only lasts my plane ride. By the time I am on land again I feel quite normal. Vaping the marijuana also means the smell doesn’t linger on my clothing.

Using topicals for daily aches and pains

For daily aches and pains there are a lot of things you can do.

Some people advocate stretching or going to a massage therapist to loosen those muscles.

You can also use heating pads, icy hot and take anti-inflammatory pills. A lot of people now are turning to cannabis to treat chronic pain. You can smoke to get the cannabinoids into your system to reduce inflammation and pain. Most people with injuries tend to turn to topicals though. Not everyone wants to get high, especially those with injuries. A topical is any lotion, cream of salve with CBD infused in it. There are even patches that a person can put on their skin that also has THC in it. The THC then gets into the blood through the patch and can make a person high. Typically when a customer turns to a topical, they just want the relief. The topical usually has peppermint or some other cooling formula to soothe the muscles as well. This means that most topicals smell quite pleasant. It is a better, more intense form of icy hot in my opinion. I love using topicals since I am an athlete that deals with daily pain. I stock up on different creams that I use daily. I have one for at night and one in the morning. I like changing up what smells I get and how strong of a topical I use. I don’t feel like I am using a cannabis product either. I don’t get high, mellow or have the muchines. It simply is meant to soothe the aches and help me throughout the day.

What is a dab bar

Do you want to get as high as possible? I highly recommend trying cannabis concentrates over oil or flower.

You get the marijuana plant down to its chemical essence to get as much of the THC content as possible.

You then vaporize it by dabbing. How do you vape concentrate? It is similar to a bong but you are actually using a titanium nail called a rig. The dabber uses a blowtorch to heat the nail in order to vaporize the concentrate on the nail. Dabbing used to be looked at as potentially being dangerous. Research is still being done but it doesn’t look like taking in harder amounts of THC is bad. There are even portable rigs for sale at legal weed shops. At high end cannabis dispensaries there are places called dab bars where multiple rigs are set up for customers. They simply wipe off the mouthpiece after each use. The dab bar is a good way to get high and really be in the marijuana atmosphere. There are machines called e-rigs that the user can set their own heat, flavor and potency too. With most weed you are getting around 30% THC but with dabbing you can get around the 60-80% range. There is a form called crystalline that can get up to 99% THC. So if you want to get really high quickly, look at dabbing. The dab bars are growing in popularity and more dispensaries are adding them to the layout. For smokers of oil and flowers, you still need to stick to the standard vape lounge.

Now it is all delivery

A lot of things have really stunk since COVID has been around.

You can’t go to the movies anymore, you have to stream at home. There is no more bar hopping, restaurants, hikes or nights on the town. Everything is way lamer and most people are stuck at home. I now am at the stage where everything I do is online based. I also have to work from my computer at my house. As a very social person, this feels like torture. The last thing that I had going for me was heading to the cannabis dispensary near me. I used to do once a month trips and when COVID started showing up, I upped it to once a week. I needed some reason to get out of the house and talk to people. I would spend over an hour talking to the budtender about sativa vs indica. I would look at the different ways to smoke, different edibles and even try concentrates at the dab bar. It was the only cool thing left that the virus had not touched. Now my cannabis dispensary has closed its doors and is all virtual based. You can look up the cannabis menu online, place an order and either get it delivered or do curbside pickup. There is no reason to go out to the dispensary anymore, so I get cannabis delivery. I can’t look at all the different products or talk to the budtender either. It really stinks that this weed shop has now become just like every other business. I keep thinking the times are going to change and things will be back to normal.

Cannabis flower products are my favorite way to consume marijuana in any form

I feel like a bit of a naturalist when it comes to food and medications.

  • I don’t have an inherent hate of pharmaceutical medications, but I’d rather use natural remedies in situations where it’s possible.

Case and point—I grew up using diphenhydramine, the medicine in benadryl, for both allergies and sleeping issues. Since it ticked both boxes, I never questioned using it. But my allergies improved as I got older, and after trying melatonin for insomnia, I have all but quit using diphenhydramine. I still have a bottle in my medicine cabinet, but it rarely gets used. For anxiety, I use this compound l-theanine that comes from green tea. It’s a surprisingly powerful anti-anxiety medication for being completely legal, but it isn’t cheap because of the extraction process. The price alone probably dissuades most people from trying it. If I need something stronger, or something to help with depression as well—that’s when I turn to cannabis. I have a medical marijuana card in my home state, and I usually visit a medical cannabis once a month or more to restock. I have tried everything from cannabis topicals to cannabis soda, but my favorite cannabis products to this day are cannabis flower products. It’s getting the most natural form of cannabis—its harvested flower buds—and using it the way nature intended without sending it through an extraction process. By and large, I also prefer sativa strains over indica strains because the former helps keep my mind stimulated through long workdays at home. Sometimes I use indica strains at night, but I don’t always have them on hand at home to use whenever the thought crosses my mind.
