They weren’t wheelchair friendly.

It seems that every place you go now, must be wheelchair friendly.

When they first opened the medical marijuana dispensary in our area, it wasn’t wheelchair friendly.

I’m not sure what happened that they missed that when they opened. Considering the marijuana dispensary is there to help people who have medical problems, you would think they would have made sure they were wheelchair friendly. My mom had been in a wheelchair since right after I was born. She was in a serious car accident that left her with one leg and it didn’t work. She had a back injury that left her paralyzed from the hip down. She used to tell me her leg hurt and I would rub it for her. Even though there wasn’t a leg there, the brain still thought it was there. She would get pain where there was nothing to have pain. Her phantom pains were continuing even though the accident was ten years previously. The doctor suggested she try medical marijuana to help with the discomfort. For three years now, she had been going to the medical marijuana dispensary to get marijuana to help with her pain. When she first began going to the marijuana dispensary, they still hadn’t installed the ramp. She laughingly told them they were making life difficult for her, and they promised the ramp would soon be installed. Three weeks later, she arrived at the marijuana dispensary to get her prescription filled, and the ramp was in place. She was thrilled to find out they were finally wheelchair friendly and she didn’t need to call for assistance.
