Seeing a medical marijuana doctor for PTSD

When I first got back from fighting in a war, I didn’t know how to return to my normal life.

Every sound, every person that walked by, every interaction that I had seemed to leave me with a heightened sense of anxiety.

Since being in public became something stressful for me, I no longer wanted to go out. I started to feel depressed and found reasons to stay at home by myself. My family and friends were worried about me, so I finally went to a therapist for help. I learned of my diagnosis for PTSD. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I felt like I didn’t have any options. However, my therapist told me that I should consider trying medical marijuana as a treatment for my PTSD. I never would have thought that I would use marijuana, as it was frowned upon during my upbringing. At that point, I was ready to try just about anything. I scheduled an appointment with a medical marijuana doctor because you have to go to a doctor with the appropriate certifications in order to get approved for a medical marijuana ID card. This was not the type of doctor that was covered by insurance, and I had to pay a few hundred dollars for the appointment. Once the medical marijuana doctor confirmed that my PTSD qualified me for the use of medical marijuana, I was able to apply for my ID card. This cost me another couple hundred dollars, but it was worth it.
