My sister was having a hard time with her chemotherapy.

I barely remember the vivacious sister I took under my wing when she was angry or hurt over something one of her boyfriends said.

She used to laugh at everything and brought a smile to the face of everyone who had the opportunity to know her.

Over the laugh three years, she had lost half her body weight, and the cancer was eating at her body. She had already experienced two rounds of chemotherapy, and she had recently begun a second round. When the doctor mentioned she had to go through chemo again, I started looking for ways to ease the nausea that came with it. The nausea was the worse for her, and she lost so much weight. The doctor talked about her immune system being low because of the chemo, but I thought the nausea was weakening her more. I heard that marijuana would help with the nausea and pain, and I talked to the doctor. He gave her a prescription and told her he would send it in to the state. Two weeks later, we were at the cannabis dispensary to get her first dose of marijuana. Medical marijuana was good for so many things, but I didn’t realize it helped with the effects of chemo. Her first use of marijuana products gave her some comfort, but every time she used her marijuana products, she saw more progress. I knew she wasn’t as positive of her prognosis this time, but she was feeling better and smiling thanks to the medical marijuana. I only wished I had thought of medical marijuana the first two times she underwent chemotherapy.
