My mom and dad don't understand life
She is even talking about trying to get custody again, so the girls can live full time with her
When my sister moved away from home, she started drinking and doing drugs. My mom and dad were really upset and disappointed. My sister spent five years in a rehab program and she finally got clean. Now the doctor has her taking medical marijuana to help fight the drug dependence and to help with the underlying conditions that led my sister down such a dark path. I think she always suffered from depression. When we were kids, she used to sit alone in her room for hours. She never wanted to hang out with friends or go to the park. She got sadder and sadder, but my parents just said she was going through puberty. Ever since my sister has gotten clean and started using medical marijuana, she has been a totally and completely different person. My mom and dad still think she is using drugs, because they consider marijuana to be a drug. I think it’s absolutely wonderful that my sister is feeling better. If that;s due to a plant that naturally grows, then I hope she smokes weed for the rest of her life. She has energy and mental clarity and she maintains a full time job. She sees her children on the weekend. She is even talking about trying to get custody again, so the girls can live full time with her. I think the positive changes are due to treating an illness that has been there her whole life. If my parents would have treated her depression early on, maybe my sister would not have turned to drinking and drugs in the first place. That’s one big reason why I wish they wouldn’t judge her for marijuana now.
