My daughter’s boyfriend is a pot smoker
When I was in college, my friends and I smoked pot between classes.
- Pot was cool and it was a way to lash out at authority.
We were protesting the war and demanding changes in the government. Marijuana was illegal back then, but things have certainly changed in the last 40 years. Marijuana is legal in the state where I live and it can be purchased by adults over the age of 21. It can be purchased legally for medical and recreational purposes. A lot of people use marijuana for recreational purposes. I did not know that my daughter was one of these people, but now I am starting to wonder. Last month during the holidays, my daughter brought home her boyfriend. It seems very clear to my wife and I that her boyfriend is a pot smoker. All of his clothes smelled like marijuana and every time my daughter and he came back from a trip, both of them smelled like weed. I didn’t have a doubt in my mind after my wife and I found out that Jack works at a marijuana dispensary. The guy was proud to announce his occupation in the middle of Christmas dinner. He seemed proud to display his ID badge for the dispensary. I’m certainly not happy that my daughter is dating a guy with no real future. My wife and I wanted her to find a guy with a career and a good job. Instead she is living in the sticks with a guy that thinks marijuana is the future.
