Making the dispensary a fun hang-out spot
For about six months, I was the floor manager at a local club.
I have to say it was the best task I ever had… And then COVID came along, and all the local clubs and bars had to close for a while, then most of those businesses, including the one that emplotted me, never opened back up again.
I had to sit through a long phase of unemployment before I finally found another task I thought I could thrive in. I learn about the local cannabis dispensary and how it was going to open up a smokers lounge, so I went down to apply for a task there instantaneously. Even though a cannabis dispensary and a nightclub are very different, there was the same principle involved! They needed someone to bring in fresh customers, to make the cannabis dispensary seem fun to a whole new crowd. I had to get my feet wet, of course, and learn the ropes of working in the marijuana industry and find out what the owners were looking for. They wanted the smokers lounge to be a chill spot where people could unwind and enjoy some cannabis or edibles with the other clients. I started off quietly, and had a Cannabis Movie night where the people I was with and I would project classic marijuana comedies on the wall. I set up a corner in the table that was covered with card and board games, so people would have something to do while smoking cannabis; Little by little, I am starting to build up more new customers for the cannabis dispensary.
