Is there a difference between wax, shatter, and sugar

I recently got a medical cannabis card and all of us wanted to know much information on the products before we actually went to a dispensary. Both of us read some information about wax, fatter, and sugar wax plus many other changes of marijuana. I easily wanted a product that I would be able to cook with plus also use inside of a vaporizer pen. The very first time I went to this marijuana shop, I had to talk with a pharmacist to discuss all of the products. A pharmacist came from the back room and asked all of us if we were aware of the difference between wax plus sugar. She said wax plus sugar were also commonly referred to as sugar wax. This is derived from a plant through different types of chemical or extraction processes. It seems that Sugar waxes are absolutely more potent than actual marijuana. The potency of sugar wax can be from 60 to 90%. Some of the natural plant terpenes are still intact in sugar wax as well and that means CBD is present too. I wanted to know if this stuff would be different from other concentrates or flower products. The budtender advised me that flower was used for smoking. If you wanted a long process and turning into some liquid or infusing product, then sugar wax could be something easy to use. Heat advisories on different websites say to cook the sugar wax at 250° for 30 minutes but that did not seem necessary when we considered smoking the product or vaping it.
