I have a part time job helping with pot farming on a family farm

We all wear masks so I don’t have to worry about exposure to the virus either

As my hours began to wane at my job last month, I started to wonder if I should look for part time work. Despite the economic woes in the country right now, there are jobs in multiple sectors available in my area. Retail locations are desperate for more employees, as well as the restaurants both chain and family owned. We saw some spending from the various COVID relief bills garner a bit of economic recovery in the area, and without current lockdowns many businesses recently reopened. But since so many people have moved to working remote jobs from the safety of their living rooms, there aren’t as many hungry for physical in-person work. I have seen a handful of businesses raise their wages just so they can compete and entice future workers to join the company. Since I already have a remote job to begin with, I was hoping to find more remote work. I figured I could work for a call center while fielding calls in my home office, or perhaps become a copy editor for a marketing company. I haven’t ever had either of those job positions before, but I think they’re within my current skill set. For now, I found part time work at a family farm right down the street from my house. They grow cannabis and need help harvesting, trimming, and packaging marijuana so it can be shipped off to dispensaries around the entire state. Pot farming is an exciting enterprise, something I never thought I’d have the privilege of doing. We all wear masks so I don’t have to worry about exposure to the virus either. It’s important to them that none of their cannabis products get exposed to respiratory particles from an unknowingly infected employee. I have learned so much about growing marijuana from this family farm and I am considering staying on as a regular employee.
