I had to go to the ER after the torch burnt my leg
My friends and I were smoking marijuana with a nectar collector. The nectar collector is a piece of titanium attached to a silicone holder. We use a propane torch to heat the titanium nail and then touch the wax or concentrate to the nail so it can be inhaled as vapor. We take turns holding the torch which is extremely hot and dangerous. I found out just how hot and dangerous it can be last weekend, when I dropped the hot torch on my leg. The skin started burning immediately and I had a burn hole in the side of my leg. I honestly felt like I was in shock. My friends were worried about me, so they decided to take me to the emergency room. We waited in the lobby for almost an hour before they took me into the triage area. The nurse was horrified when she saw the wound on my leg. She didn’t believe the burn actually came from smoking marijuana, but I assured her that I am that clumsy. I got an IV filled with antibiotics and a stern warning from the doctor on duty. Even though marijuana is legal in this state for recreational and medical purposes, he urged me to find a different way to enjoy the plant. My leg is going to take weeks to heal. I have to remove the bandages and clean the wound three times a day. It looks horrible and it feels even worse. I am done with the nectar collector for a while. I’ll roll some joints and smoke flower until the wound heals.
