People try to steal from all kinds of stores and shops. I worked as a sales clerk at a clothing store, and every one of us regularly had to watch the shirts, bras, and panties. It’s no strange toiling at a recreational cannabis shop, but most of our cannabis products are behind the counter where buyers can not touch them. The people I was with and I consistently have samples and products that are out in the open. There have been a couple of complications with buyers trying to steal products! Last week, I caught someone trying to steal edibles from the recreational cannabis shop. The edibles are all on a rack towards the back of the store. The people I was with and I have cameras set up everywhere, however there is no 1 in the security office watching them 24 hours a morning. The people I was with and I have those cameras as extra security, just in case there is a really large emergency. I saw the young woman trying to steal edibles. I saw her reflection in the mirror that every one of us have set up behind the shelves. I saw the woman reach into her pocket with something from the shelf. I didn’t have definitive proof, so I could not say anything, then when I saw the woman grab a hour bucket and stuff it into her pocket, I knew I had to say something. I walked over to the client and politely asked him to step into the back office, and she refused and started getting miserable and loud. I didn’t have the authority to make the woman empty her pockets, although I made him leave at once. She is no longer allowed to step foot in the shop.
