I can only use indica products at night because they put me to sleep

It’s hard functioning through the afternoon when you’re prescribed sedatives for your medical conditions.

There are regular people who insist they can’t function without coffee every morning, but can you imagine how much harder this becomes when you’re also taking sedating medication at the same time? I have to wait an hour and let my coffee kick in before I take my anxiety medication, otherwise I’ll get so tired that I feel like I need to go back to sleep to avoid passing out.

I end up drinking at least a pot of coffee each day to stay awake and get enough work done. It’s even harder than most would expect, considering that you can only consume so much caffeine before you have heart palpitations from it. You also start to build up a tolerance for it in a much shorter period of time than most would realize. Whenever I use cannabis, I have to be really careful with my strain selection. I have found that sativas are great for daytime use, but indicas are too sedating to use before 9pm. It doesn’t matter how busy I am or exhausted I might be, indicas often put me to sleep if I use them in the daytime. Some hybrids are fine, but I have to be careful with something that is indica dominant. More often than not I buy sativas or sativa-dominant hybrids whenever I’m at the cannabis dispensary. This is why it’s so important to have well trained budtenders, because one strain of cannabis can affect two people in two very different sorts of ways. It’s fine if people prefer indicas, because I probably would too if I wasn’t on so many sedatives everyday.
