I allowed my son to try cannabis

My kid was going to smoke weed with me or without me, then by deciding to support their option I got to be there with Max when he got high for the first time.

This seemed like the best possible option I could make, given the circumstances, I remember when I was his age, and I wanted to get drunk so I did.

It was a terrible experience, in a strange place with a group of people I barely knew. I did not want that for Max. If he wanted to experiment with using cannabis he would find a way to do it, this way he did it with me, where it was safe! One Friday after Max came home from school he found me in the living room, watching a movie and rolling some cannabis into a joint. I told Max if he wanted to see what it was like to smoke cannabis he would do it with his mom, in his home, for his first time, then he thought I was kidding, but I told him that I knew he was curious about cannabis, and I didn’t want him sneaking around, and just because there are still laws against cannabis doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with it – the laws are wrong. While I would like him to wait until school to experiment with cannabis, I would like it even more if he never took unneeded risks, but since I bought the cannabis, and was supervising its use, there was no risk involved for Max at all, it was a safe and fun environment.
