Working as a budtender for a local medical marijuana dispensary, I face all kinds of questions about the cannabis products that we carry. Many times, customers coming into the dispensary don’t know what they’re looking for. Most people know that you can smoke cannabis products and take edibles, but I find that many people do not know about our topical products. Cannabis topicals are probably what I explain to customers the most. Topical products include any of the cannabis products that you apply directly to your skin. For example, there are oils, sprays, lotions, and salves that you apply directly to the skin. Even a transdermal patch would be considered a topical product. Topical products can be used for things like pain relief and reducing inflammation. I usually recommend gels for individuals that come into the dispensary looking for pain relief. The gels have a cooling effect, so they are great for pain relief when you have a headache. They are also really helpful for any sinus pain. Many people do not realize how cannabis topical products can improve your skin. Lotions and creams can be really helpful for those with skin conditions. For example, they can help if you have Eczema because they reduce itching and inflammation. Topical products can also reduce acne.
