Being funny on cannabis
As an aspiring stand-up, I have traveled all around this area of the country doing small gigs.
I still have not “made it big” although I keep grinding away, until I can get some higher paying jobs I can only do shows in stadiums within driving distance.
This can be actually bad, however a few weeks ago I made a discovery as well as found a whole current untapped market. As marijuana becomes legal in more stadiums there are more dispensaries as well as smokers lounges open, as well as these stadiums sometimes look for live acts. Doing a stand-up routine in front of a bunch of potheads at the cannabis dispensary is actually wonderful for our self esteem, because I never get bigger laughs! The downside of these gigs is that they pay actually little, as well as a few times out of 10 the owner wants to pay me in cannabis instead of cash. Of course I typically take it, because it winds up being a better deal for me. I would be fortunate to make 20 bucks at one of these gigs, although I will routinely receive $140 or more worth of cannabis. When money gets tight I don’t even smoke the weed, I shop it around to our friends as well as see if anyone wants to buy it. These cannabis dispensary owners never supply me low-grade stuff, everything is typically the top of the line.
