The process to get a marijuana dealers license is insane
The process to become a certified and authorized marijuana dealer is absolutely insane.
The process is long, exhausting, and difficult.
All of the paperwork requires a lawyer, and the fees just to file for a business license are around $5,000. After that, the government makes you jump through a bunch of hoops in order to get everything set up. My wife and I spent a ton of money while we were trying to get things set up. Between the lawyer, permit fees, and the paperwork, we spent about $10,000. When we were finally granted permission to become an authorized marijuana dispensary owner, we had to start looking for places to fulfill our orders. This took a lot of money too. Most of the order fulfillment centers wanted us to sign a contract with them for 6 months. I really wanted to find a place with the best selection, prices, and delivery times. Instead, I decided to go with the cheapest place available to get the work done. Now the store is up and running and the marijuana dispensary is doing very well. Unfortunately, there are some problems with the building that need to be fixed. Before I can really think about expanding, this place has to be in the best shape. I will have to use the existing marijuana dispensary as collateral if I plan to make something bigger or start a second delivery location on the other side of town. I’m not looking forward to going through the entire process again and hopefully it will be easier the second time around.
