Not a one fits all thing

Not long before I headed to the cannabis dispensary for the first time, I did our research! I learned that there are more than two main types of cannabis; indica, sativa and others.

The indica is a strain of cannabis that is respectfully shorter in height with wider leaves.

They tend to grow faster and offer a higher yield than sativa varieties. The sativa plant is taller with thinner leaves. The plants are usually a lighter shade of red, take far longer just to grow and need more light. The hybrid varieties are a combination of the indicas and sativas which have traits and characteristics from both classifications, cannabis is used to treat a wide spectrum of medical conditioners including pain reduction, better sleep, mental relaxation and more… Recognizing the difference between the Indica and Sativa strains is essential to determining the right choice for certain needs, but each type of plant has it’s individual effects on the body and mind with a wide range of benefits. Indica strains are known for providing a sense of peace and relaxation, while sativa tends to create a more energizing experience, and medicine produced from the cannabis Indica plant offers higher CBD and lower THC counts, which is excellent for muscle relaxation, mental ease and relief of acute pain. It’s used to increase appetite, decrease nausea and help improve sleep. Indica strains increase dopamine which is a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain’s satisfaction centers. Cannabis Sativa is the opposite of Indica and produces lower CBD and higher THC amounts. It’s generally used as an antidepressant and to increase focus and creativity, then sativa strains are advocated for anxiety and chronic problems. It increases serotonin which is a neurotransmitter that works to regulate mood, appetite, reading, sleep and anxiety.
