My brother told me he was using medical marijuana.

I was brought up in a very strict family. My parents didn’t believe you should put anything into your body that wasn’t natural. They preached that the body is the temple of the soul, and we should always treat it with respect. Maybe their strict upbringing is why I would go out with my friends and indulge in chocolate and ice cream until I was so sick I was nauseous. It could have also been the reason I saw my brother at the marijuana dispensary. What I couldn’t understand is why he was there, when I knew they weren’t yet selling legal recreational marijuana. I waited until he came out of the dispensary and grabbed his arm. He was so nervous that I didn’t know if he was going to laugh or cry. I asked if his wife knew he was there. He frowned and told me that, of course, his wife knew. He had been coming to the cannabis dispensary for almost two years now. I knew mom and dad would be disappointed if they knew he had been frequenting the medical marijuana dispensary. I asked if they knew, and he said no. As fanatical as they were about eating junk food, they would disown him if they knew he was using marijuana. I pointed out that it was medical cannabis, and he shouldn’t have to hide it from them. He reminded about all the fuss they raised when they found out he had pizza with friends. I had to agree that he was right. He told me that when he was diagnosed with ADD, they wouldn’t get him medication for it, so now that he was an adult, the doctor got him a prescription for medical marijuana and he had been using it ever since.
