Medical marijuana was better than OTC painkillers.

When I heard my sister say that medical marijuana was better than OTC painkillers, I thought I had heard her wrong.

She was the first one to get upset when the state began talking about legalizing medical marijuana. When people were standing outside the state house, she was shouting with them and trying to convince them they should NOT vote for medical marijuana. I turned around and stared at her. She simply shrugged and walked away from me. A shrug wasn’t enough to shut me up or keep me from following after her. I walked out to her car with her, and she turned to ask if I had a problem with her going home to her husband and kids. I had no problem if she was going home, but I wanted to know why she had done a 180 on the idea of legalizing medical marijuana. She told me there are times when you realize how wrong you are, and you change your mind, no matter how adamant you were about your decision. I asked if there was anything I could help her with, but she smiled and got into her car. It was several months after that cryptic day that I was talking to my brother-in-law. He told me his mother had cancer and she had been battling it for almost two years now. I asked how she was doing with the chemo? He told me if it wasn’t for the medical marijuana, he didn’t think she would have gotten through it. It not just helped with the nausea, but the severe cramping she got was very painful. She got a lot of benefit from the medical marijuana in the nausea and pain that came from the chemo.
