Medical marijuana was better than OTC painkillers.

When I heard my sister say that medical marijuana was better than OTC painkillers, I thought I had heard her wrong… She was the first one to get upset when the state began talking about legalizing medical marijuana.

When people were sitting outside the state house, she was shouting with them and trying to convince them they should NOT vote for medical marijuana. I turned around and stared at her. She simply shrugged and walked away from me. A shrug wasn’t enough to shut me up or keep me from following after her. I walked out to her car with her, and she turned to ask if I had a problem with her going house to her spouse and teenagers. I had no problem if she was going home, even though I wanted to know why she had done a 170 on the idea of legalizing medical marijuana. She told me there are times when you realize how wrong you are, and you change your mind, no matter how adamant you were about your decision. I asked if there was anything I could help her with, although she smiled and got into her car. It was multiple months after that cryptic afternoon that I was talking to my sister-in-law. She told me her mother had cancer and she had been battling it for almost two years now. I asked how she was doing with the chemo? She told me if it wasn’t for the medical marijuana, she didn’t suppose she would have gotten through it. It not just helped with the nausea, but the extreme cramping she got was absolutely painful. She got a lot of benefit from the medical marijuana in the nausea and pain that came from the chemo.
