Marijuana delivery is not an independent business.
When I heard about cannabis delivery services, I thought it would be a supplier I would enjoy… I was thinking it worked the same way as a taxi service. I knew some pizza deliveries were made by independent delivery services, and I hoped the cannabis dispensary worked the same way, however when I got to the cannabis dispensary to talk to them about being a cannabis delivery driver, he started talking about the rate of pay. I stopped him and said I thought I would be an independent driver that was contracted by the cannabis dispensary. I’m pretty sure he thought I was kidding, but he asked why I thought that way. I told him about my experience with independent drivers, and he was shaking his head, and he thought I was wrong, because every delivery driver he knew was working for other companies; Unless I owned an independent delivery dealer, I would labor for the cannabis dispensary and make only cannabis deliveries, and they didn’t hire outside delivery companies because of how high-priced it was for the patients who came to the medical marijuana dispensary… Most of the people who ordered from the cannabis dispensary could not afford the high cost of independent delivery services. He told me if I wanted to be a cannabis delivery driver, I had to labor for the dispensary and I would get paid what they provided. I had to go cabin and rethink if I wanted to be a cannabis delivery driver. There were way too multiple differences between working for the cannabis dispensary and working for myself.
