I wanted my kid to use cannabis safely
My child was going to smoke weed with me or without me.
By deciding to support their choice I got to be there with Max when she got high for the first time, however this seemed like the best possible choice I could make, given the circumstances, I remember when I was her age, and I wanted to get drunk so I did.
It was an awful experience, in a different location with a group of people I barely knew. I did not want that for Max. If she wanted to experiment with using cannabis she would find a way to do it, this way she did it with me, where it was safe! One Monday after Max came home from school she found me in the kitchen, watching a film and rolling some cannabis into a joint. I told Max if she wanted to see what it was like to smoke cannabis she would do it with her dad, in her home, for her first time, she thought I was kidding, although I told him that I knew she was curious about cannabis, and I didn’t want him sneaking around, but just because there are still laws against cannabis doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with it – the laws are wrong; While I would appreciate that she wait until university to experiment with cannabis, I would like it even more if she never took unneeded risks. Since I bought the cannabis, and was supervising its use, there was no risk involved for Max at all, it was a safe and fun environment.
