A good budtender is part bartender and part pharmacist

Much like a bar, the medical cannabis dispensary has a lot of competition, and needs to develop a bigger roster of regular, loyal customers

There are things you can learn in school, but some things simply cannot be taught. I was never the smartest guy in the room, but I know how to talk to people. I have the gift of gab, as my daddy used to tell me, and over the years that ability has served me well. For the right kind of person, in the right kind of place, being a bartender is a very lucrative profession. I have the ability to read people, to make them feel at ease, which helps them relax and buy more drinks. It also breeds repeat business, the lifeblood for a bar, or a cannabis dispensary, it turns out. One of my regulars is the manager of a local medical cannabis shop, and he wanted to hire me to give some lessons to his staff. He said that his crew at the medical cannabis store were all smart, educated, and certified, but none of them knew how to talk to the customers and make them feel at home. Much like a bar, the medical cannabis dispensary has a lot of competition, and needs to develop a bigger roster of regular, loyal customers. A good budtender is part pharmacist and part bartender, and he wanted me to teach them those little things school couldn’t. I don’t know much about medical cannabis, but I do know the basics of customer service, and making people feel valued. I told him I would come and talk to his medical cannabis employees, and give them a few pointers about dealing with people.
