I like learning more about the plant, like how it’s grown and processed and how cannabis extracts like distillate oil are created. Cannabis dispensary products like capsules, tinctures, and topical creams are regularly created from cannabis oil which is extracted from dry-cured marijuana flower buds. These extracts can be made with chemical solvents such as butane, ethanol, and CO2, or with heat and pressure. Although most marijuana products made with chemical solvents have little to no chemical residue leftover from the extraction process, solventless extracts like rosin and bubble hash are more desirable and therefore cost more money. They’re also harder to make, which is the primary factor in their higher cost. Live rosin and live bubble hash are made from fresh cannabis plants that are frozen right after harvest instead of dry-cured. This results in a product that is rich in terpenes and also costs more to make.
