Was ready to take on the winter this year with radiant heated floors
I am so glad that I decided to be prepared this winter, because we were in for a major blizzard that left us stranded at home! I actually decided to get radiant heated floors before the winter because I had heard so much about them.
I had friends who were entirely raving about how great radiant heated floors are. I even went over to their homes to hang out a few times and I had to agree that they were really nice. So I ended up having radiant heated floors installed at my home. I was very pleased with the lower cost in my energy bills and the increased comfort in my household. The heating is absolutely even coming up from the floors and you feel toasty from your feet going all the way up. I especially love how the heated air rises so slowly so everything is heated evenly and this is why this type of heating system is so energy efficient. With standard central heating systems, the heat mostly shoots right up to the ceiling so you don’t feel it as much and you experience drafts in your home. With radiant heated floors, that is no longer an issue. Well, we got slammed this winter with a brutal blizzard and it seemed like the snow would never cease. Luckily, I had enough food for a week and I also had a backup generator in case the power went out. The radiant heated floors kept us nice and warm through the blizzard. I had a lot of snow shoveling to do, and we were so happy when the blizzard was finally over and the driving ban was lifted.
